About the Square
Founded in 1913 by prominent local real estate developer George L. Crenshaw, Lafayette Square was the final and most impressive of his 10 residential projects in Los Angeles. Consisting of 236 homes nestled in the epicenter of Mid-City, Lafayette Square offers an enchanting blend of historic architecture, vibrant community spirit, and convenient urban amenities, making it the epitome of desirable neighborhood living.
Billed originally as “A Unique Residential Park,” Lafayette Square continues to uphold this slogan over 100 years later, welcoming residents and visitors with its wide streets, tree-lined sidewalks, and beautifully manicured central median. For small town-style living in the heart of a sophisticated city, there is no better place than Lafayette Square.
