Committees
Beautification
The Beautification Committee’s mission is to make recommendations, both to the Lafayette Square board and the Square’s residents, that help beautify and clean up our neighborhood. If engaging your neighbors in these projects sounds interesting to you, then the Beautification Committee may be right for you.
Safety & Security
The LSA Safety Committee is led by Jeff Baum and Yale Scott. The committee works closely with the Los Angeles City Council District 10 as well as the LAPD. Meetings are held on a regular basis to inform the residents of ways to secure their property as well as themselves.
Events
Do you like throwing parties and getting people together? Then the Events Committee is the place for you! Sign up to chair one of the Square’s annual events, such as the New Neighbor Welcome Party, the Annual Used Stuff Sale, or the Halloween Party—or, just volunteer to help with set up or clean up.
Membership
Our Membership Committee is responsible for helping collect dues and keep track of who has (and has not!) paid the annual fee, as well as how the funds are allocated. If you’re a friendly person who wants to help encourage other neighbors to contribute to the Neighborhood Association, please join the Membership Committee!
Bylaws
The bylaws are a set of rules that govern the internal operations of the Lafayette Square Neighborhood Association. They also outline the organizational structure, the officers, meeting frequency, voting, and committees. The Bylaws Committee oversees necessary updates or amends to the bylaws. Neighbors who enjoy law and rules and regulations are perfect candidates for this committee.
Youth / Next Gen
Do you want to help kids get outside and interact with each other? That’s what our Youth and Teen Committees are all about! Help organize events designed just for the residents of the Square who are under 18. Bring your fresh ideas for fun activities for kids of all ages, and help build a robust roster of events for the neighborhood youth to enjoy.
